top notch stuff man..the intellects of our country are pseudo partisans who never crave for the development of our nation..they need a huge shake up and lets start with this a*****e
wow ho ho .. well justified anger here. good one buddy. I truly madly deeply despise her too.
Thanks so much for this wonderful post! I couldn't agree more with what you've said, so very well!
Please keep the good work going and spread the message!
Bingo! Very well written post here, justifiying with all the "Whys". I was just wondering hav u noticed just this one lady, coz i'm seeing couple of indian intellectualls who hav left their brains whn it comes to india n emotions of the ppl..
I was directed to read this post by a friend of mine, so I took some time just for this. And man, you've put exactly what I think of this lady one. Pity, I used to admire this fart once.
Wonder why she is allowed to roam free even after such an anti-national outburst. Nobody ever thinks what our soldiers who're ready to give their lives for the nation feels about all this verbal diarrhea... Shame, and sad.
PS: Man, I'm still settling into my new city and yet to get a phone and broadband. So I'm in a forced hibernation from blogspace. But I couldn't miss this one as this was strongly suggested. Well done! :)
Clap clap clap...Sometimes I wonder how people misuse their freedom of speech..."Hooker Prize" was a mistake and I keep wondering why books/movies get a lot of attention when they show India in a bad light...
Well said, Praveen! Underscore all those points. Bang on target!
The good or bad about a democratic state is that it gives her right to do any verbal orgasm of sorts that suits her from time to time,
and you Praveen, to write or speak what you think about -- and we need that freedom; if it were used with a sense of responsibility -- we can only wish :)
The book is one of the best trash i've read -- well we, and the world, do promote people for apparently wrong reasons :)
wishes,
devika
@ roshan
thnks man
@ harikrishnan
they show that they care..but they dont..
@preeti
hehhee...truly madly deeply ...and she deserves tht :D
@rakesh
yea...spreading the love:D
@devil incarnate
its not this lady alone...there are many more of the ilk..but this one makes the most noise for sure..
@scorpiogenius
thanks a lot for taking your time out even when u were busy there...
btw, we've to let her roam free...and ignore her..arresting her will bring her more attention..which is surely what she wants
@blue lotus
misuse is a light word...what ppl like her are doing is much more than that
and coming to movies and books getting more attention when bashing India, its our old colonial bosses at work here..they are happy wen someone from among us bashes us...feeds their ego well
@usha m'am
thanks a lot :)
@devika m'am
yes..responsibility is whats missing..these ppl forget that they wont get the above said freedom in most other countries..
ha! Praveen, to put it lightly it appears that this opinionated piece as well could as well be charged for libel -- But its also a country where no one cares :)
anyway, its fun watching this world -- from the viewpoint of a housewife who landed in the wonderland of blogging :)
wishes,
devika
@ devika m'am
maybe yes, but if that lady has a right to believe that kashmir is in the current state only because of India, then I also have the right to write about her true intentions...
i agree dear one, and I am in no way a supporter of Arundhati Roy or her fanciful ideologies -- I was perhaps referring to some phraseology --
Her intentions are mostly known...and you still have the right to dissect it, :)
wishes,
devika
"But, you don't rape speech just because its free" applies to you as well.
Calling 'God of small things' a "not so great book" was your first offense. Anyway, it is your opinion. It is true that the Naxalites rape and kill people, but what about the rapes and killings CRPF has been accused of in the Naxal affected regions?
What about the kid who had been forced to pick up arms just because his mother was raped by a policeman and his father killed?
The ruler of Kashmir wanted it to be an independent state, neither joining hands with India nor Pakistan, is a well known fact, please check Wikipedia for more details.
And, if there is anyone who loves to be in spotlight all the time, it's Shobha De...anything on her would be welcomed and appreciated!
By the way, calling it the 'Hooker' prize does not make your article hilarious.
You ll regret telling this words bro.On this one u are wrong.Thinks like u are struck by popular media.
U need to grab more knowledge of the situation.
What do u call a state with a seperate Constitution,seperate set of rules and where 'directive principles of state policy' are not valid?
Where people are denied fundamental rights.Where people from rest of the country cannot own land and settle.
All in all these people are seperated,alienated and suffered.
They are very much seperated from the rest of the nation.
Think about if ur child cant go to schools.Ur offices are not opening coz of Emergency.
Ur young girls wives and mothers are raped by Army officials and u have nowhere to complain.
Are u in favour of Military rule in India???
Then why question the Kashmiris for tht?
India cares about Kashmir-the piece of land.
But it doesnt realise tht Kashmir- means both land together with the people.
by alienating the people nobody can grab the land.
Kashmir is today a seperate country in itself.India has set the rules for that.
Same happen at Maoist places where corporate interests lie.
Check any maoist troubled area, a recent mining project might have been announced there after driving away the people.
Whom shud they go to- the Corrupt Judiciary?Corrupt politicians?Corrupt Media?
There is no terrorists or maoists threat.But all are created by the Mainstream media to serve corporate interests.
ANd u fall prey for that.
There shud be soe people to speak out against it.thts all Ms Arundhati had done.
Her saying Kashmir is never integral part of India is a blatant truth that anyone knows.
With recent media unveilings and wikileaks ur respect for Arundhati will grow in near future.Bet my words, eventough u may not agree.
Get well soon
